THE WEIR: Pint and a Play reading – October 30 to November 1

A “Pint and a Play” returns to County Clare’s Joyce Room this Halloween weekend as Milwaukee Irish Arts presents a staged reading of Conor McPherson’s haunting, award-winning play THE WEIR.

Imagine yourself tucked into Brendan’s isolated pub on a storm-swept night along Ireland’s wild west coast. Four men gather by the fire, their tales and their pints flowing in equal measure. When a newcomer arrives — a woman from the city — they strive to impress her with stories of spirits long gone and souls that refuse to rest.

But one story pierces the veil between myth and memory, revealing a truth more chilling — and more human — than any ghost tale before it.

The Weir is a testament to our deep hunger for connection, the quiet endurance of hope, and the timeless power of storytelling.
